Master P Biography
Master P (born Percy Robert Miller on April 29, 1970) is an American rapper, actor, producer, philanthropist, and former basketball player. He is the founder of the record label No Limit Records, which was relaunched as New No Limit Records in 2010.
Early Life & Career
As a businessman, Miller has founded or co-founded several other companies, including P. Miller Enterprises, Better Black Television, and KJLH 102.3FM. In 1997, after the success of his album Ghetto D, Miller purchased a large tract of land in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and built “The Ghetto”-a compound that included a recording studio, a basketball court, and a number of homes.
In 1998, Miller starred in and executive produced the film I’m Bout It. The movie was based on Miller’s own life and is considered one of the first “hood films.”
In 2001, Miller launched a clothing line called “No Limit Clothing” which featured his now-famous “kangol hat” logo. In 2002, Miller released his autobiography, Ghetto D.
In 2005, Miller starred in and executive produced the film Lockdown. The film is set in a maximum-security prison and was inspired by Miller’s own experience of being incarcerated for three months in 1999.
In 2006, Miller launched his energy drink “No Limit Forever.” In 2007, Miller starred in the film Gone in 60 Seconds 2.
In 2008, Miller launched a line of sneakers called “Respect My Gangsta.” In 2009, Miller was featured on the cover of Forbes magazine’s “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” issue.
In 2010, Miller relaunched his record label No Limit Records as New No Limit Records. In 2012, Miller starred in the film Kickin’ It Old Skool.
In 2013, Miller launched a line of men’s grooming products called ” Master P’s Masterful Blends.” In 2014, Miller appeared on the reality television show Dancing with the Stars.
In 2015, Miller launched a line of home security products called ” Miller’s Home Protection.” In 2016, Miller appeared on the reality television show Celebrity Family Feud.
In 2017, Miller launched a line of CBD products called ” Master P’s Nature’s Herbal Solutions.” In 2018, Miller will star in and executive produce the film I Got the Hook Up 2.
